Phomory — Privacy Policy

In short: your photos never leave your device. No account, no tracking, and we never see your data. With iCloud sync on, your moods, notes and special days are kept in your own iCloud, which we can't access.

Photos and videos

Phomory asks for access to your photo library to arrange it as a calendar by the date each photo was taken. Reading photos, making thumbnails, and finding screenshots or bank slips to hide all happen on your device. The app never uploads, copies, or changes the photos in your library. You can grant access to selected photos only, or change access at any time in Settings > Privacy > Photos.

Data the app keeps

What you create in the app (chosen covers, moods, notes, favorites, special-day names, theme, and your own background photo) is stored on your device, including the space shared with the app's widgets. We run no server of our own that receives any of it.

iCloud sync

With "Sync with iCloud" on (it's on by default; turn it off in the app under Settings > Privacy), your moods, notes, favorites, special-day names and chosen covers are stored in a private database (CloudKit private database) in your iCloud, so they match on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. Covers are stored as an iCloud Photos reference only; the photos themselves are never sent. This data is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot access it. Themes, the background photo and settings are not synced.

Trips and place names

Phomory uses the locations already saved in your photos to find trips and show maps, worked out on your device. The app never asks for your device's location. To name a trip after its city, the app sends one coordinate per trip to Apple Maps (no photos or other data) and keeps the answer on your device. Maps in the app are shown by Apple Maps. Sharing

Posters, videos, and PDFs are made on your device and leave it only when you choose to share them.

Notifications

"On this day", special-day, monthly recap and evening reminders are local notifications. Turn them off in the app or in system settings. The app may also receive silent notifications from iCloud to fetch changes made on your other devices.

Phomory Plus purchases

Subscriptions are handled by the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check your subscription status. It receives only a random anonymous user ID and purchase information from Apple, never your photos, notes, or other personal data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Analytics and ads

The app has no ads, no analytics, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

Data on your device stays until you delete the app. Deleting the app removes all Phomory data from the device; the photos in your library stay untouched. Data synced to iCloud stays until you delete it in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Phomory. Turning sync off in the app stops syncing but doesn't delete what is already in iCloud.
